Job Description
Position provides leadership for fluids and operational technical resources to all parts of the Fluid Control Division, as well as fluids expertise and support to other Wellbore Technology and NOV divisions.
The position will initially be based in Scott Louisiana, however may be moved to Houston.
Lead the effort in areas of safety and environmental compliance for the technology group.
Oversee laboratory operations and fluids technology budget.
Produce and distribute technical product and application information.
Produce and distribute product Safety Data Sheets.
Produce and distribute fluids technical handbook.
Engage technology group and direct the efforts in new product, new fluids technology, and new fluid systems development.


Support expanding fluids operations internationally.
Provide guidance and technology in preparation and submission of fluids tenders worldwide.
Develop training courses to advance NOV personnel competency levels in fluids and drilling operations technology.
Provide classroom instruction in support of training operations.
Develop and support field engineering software for fluids field and technical operations.
Develop and support laboratory software to provide uniformity, consistency, and tracking capability for laboratory data and projects.
Develop and support field engineering software for solids control field and technical operations.
Play a leadership and participatory role in support of API Standards for drilling, completion, and fracture fluids.
Collaborate with sales and operations in addressing the "pain" points of NOV's customers.
Prepare and make presentations to customers and potential customers on NOV offerings, capabilities, and value added.
Develop additional software to support technical operations in mud programming and cost estimating.
Vetting potential solutions to hydraulics issues and pressure prediction models and incorporation into Well Star engineering software.
Participate in industry organizations, SPE, AADE.
Develop and oversee QA/QC program and procedures which meet operators standards for tenders.
Lead efforts toward Technology Center becoming ISO 9001 certified.

Day Job
Strong technical background in all aspects of Fluids (drilling and completion).
Technical experience in Solids Control & Waste Management is a plus.
Chemical or other Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) with 10+ years experience. Extensive drilling and completions fluids knowledge and background.
Direct laboratory experience.
Managerial and direct supervisory experience.
Proven problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Public speaking skills.
