Senior Director - Engineering - IntegenX - San Francisco

Job description
IntegenX has an opening for a Senior Director/Director, Engineering. We are looking for an experienced, highly self-motivated and hands-on team leader for our Engineering group. This position reports to the Executive VP, Product Development.

Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on leadership for a group of in-house engineers and external design firm and contractors.
Drive opto-mechanical, electrical and fluidic designs to create products customers want to buy.
Work within a highly team-oriented and collaborative environment to develop new and support existing products.
Where there are gaps, take initiative to jump in and get things done.
Constantly look for opportunities to simplify development processes and decrease time-to-market.
Be a champion for Engineering and provide advice and guidance to executive management.


Desired Skills and Experience
Key Experience and qualifications
5-10 years engineering management. Demonstrated decisiveness. Strong leadership ability.
Experience directing outsourced engineering resources.
Must have first-hand mechanical design/SolidWorks experience designing complex products – preferably in life science products
Plastics molding
Micro-fluidic design
Opto-mechanical design
Electrical engineering
ISO 9001.
Understanding of DNA sequencing systems preferable.
BSc or Masters in an Engineering discipline
