The Brand Protection & Security Director will be based in Zhuhai. Lead the Brand Protection & Security (BPS) department and all department related programs at the Flex Zhuhai campus in Guangdong Province, China, reporting directly to the APAC BPS Senior Director. Design and deliver a risk based BPS program for a very large and complex site, whose customers include many of the world’s leading companies. Implement solutions that enable Flex’s business and operations while protecting its assets, interests and reputation. Ensure that all BPS program elements both meet industry standards and are tailored, as needed, to meet the specific risks and realities of the Flex Zhuhai campus. Drive continuous improvement, from a basis of practical and cost-effective operations, by layering leading edge performance management. Ensure the right balance of proactive programs and reactive capabilities. Partner closely with the Flex Zhuhai Senior Leadership team to align BPS strategies and operations for optimizing delivery, managing cost and supporting customers.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Establish strong communication regimens with Flex Zhuhai Leadership to ensure operational alignment. Serve as a trusted advisor to management.
Lead, develop, train and inspire the Zhuhai BPS team. Ensure that current team members meet their operational and development goals, as well as recruit and retain new talent as needed.
Manage the Zhuhai BPS budget and meet cost goals. Strive for year over year efficiencies and cost reduction.
Ensure that the Zhuhai BPS department operates in accordance with all relevant laws, company policies, compliance rules and ethical standards.
Execute “BPS 360” risk assessments for the campus and every segment of Flex Zhuhai operations at minimum annually. ensure a full E2E risk assessment is performed as part of each 360-risk assessment, which covers both upstream and downstream shipments.
Be fully aware of all Zhuhai customer BPS requirements and ensure compliance. Prepare for and participate in all customer and third-party meetings and audits. Maintain professional relationships with the security teams of the customer base.
Achieve security certifications and accreditations as required to enable business and/or based upon customer requirements – including, but not limited to, AEO, C-TPAT and TAPA, etc.
Support all Zhuhai businesses in preparing BPS related content for customer RFPs for all new projects or project expansions.
Implement Flex BPS Standards and operational protocols, tailoring them as appropriate to optimize results for Zhuhai.
Manage all BPS contract supplier performance, guard services and security system suppliers being the principal focus. Specify contract T&C’s, training, KPIs, cost management goals and documented management reporting.
Properly report, escalate, record and respond to all security incidents. Ensure Zhuhai business leaders and BPS leadership are informed in a timely manner regarding all such matters and mitigation measures are initiated in coordination with other Zhuhai functions. .
Direct a wide range of investigations into matters such as theft, wpv, threats, ipr leaks, employee misconduct, etc. Ensure all such investigations are carried out in a logical and ethical manner and are properly documented. Escalate high profile matters to WW BPS Investigations team, and support cases as required.
Participate in Zhuhai crisis management planning and ensure BPS is fully engaged in crisis event response and management.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
Minimum twelve years’ combined experience in corporate security, law enforcement and/or military service.
Minimum five years’ experience in a senior security role in the private sector managing a large corporate security department of direct and contract personnel in Asia.
Possess direct Security experience in manufacturing and logistics.
Possess direct experience in managing operating and capital budgets.
Must have experience in managing security guarding contracts to ensure quality execution, adherence to compliance requirements, as well as accurate billing and time-keeping.
Must have experience in designing, costing, operating and maintaining security systems projects, particularly those relating to access controls and CCTV.
Must have investigative experience to conduct and oversee a wide variety of enquiries into matters related to asset losses, workplace violence or ethics related complaints.
Fully proficient in Microsoft office software (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
High level of written and spoken English required, with a strong command of spoken and written Mandarin Chinese preferred.
Must have a post-secondary degree, as well as some training in security, either in the form of formal courses or certifications.
Able to cope with a challenging, fast paced and constantly changing work environment and respond to work pressures in a positive manner.
Able to manage multiple competing interests for support/time
Able to lead a large org and scale security delivery. Proven success in organizing standard delivery to multiple stakeholders with consistent quality while being able to focus on high risk and newly developing challenges requiring specialized solutions.
