Oracle is seeking a Sr. Director of Web Applications & Services Development in Oracle’s Global Sales Engineering organization

We are seeking a capable leader with strong experience in enterprise-class website applications development, data reporting systems, QA processes, and project management. This is a critical senior leadership role in Oracle’s Global Sales Engineering (GSE) organization, and will be based out of Oracle HQ in Redwood City, California. As Oracle’s primary software demos organization, GSE develops and delivers demos for Oracle’s sales teams, including the technical software systems, demo scripts, product guidance, videos and other compelling demo content to enable Oracle’s global sales teams to grow Oracle revenue.

What will you do?
You’ll lead the GSE teams that develop and maintain the GSE websites, related web services and many related back end systems that form the operational IT glue for GSE’s demos business and our data centers. You’ll define, plan and drive multiple projects and enforce standards of quality and release discipline. You’ll be looked to for defining and delivering simple, effective end user experiences for the tens of thousands of users of GSEs systems. You’ll also collaborate with many other organizations mostly within Oracle to collaborate and communicate development related issues. You’ll also provide leadership to inspire, mentor and grow your team professionally. This is an exciting, challenging and high visibility role for someone with the right talents and passions.

What’s required to succeed in this role?
- Experience leading teams of at least 10 people
- A leader who can inspire a team yet be sensitive to the individual needs of a range of personalities and organizational dynamics
- Very strong planning, organization and communication skills
- A solid understanding of and passion for user interface and end user experience
- At least moderate experience with modern IT security and network solutions
- Practiced experience in effective software development and software Quality Assurance methodologies
- A demonstrated ability to manage projects and execute goals with speed and quality results
- 12+ years experience in the software or high tech industry
- An ability to travel 5-10% of the time


Desired Skills and Experience
What are our preferences in the ideal candidate?
- A bachelors or masters in engineering, preferably in a computer science related field
- 15+ years in commerical, enterprise software and systems development
- Experience with Oracle’s APEX development platform
- Experience and knowledge of Oracle technologies and software products
- 10+ years in hands-on leadership roles
- Experience leading virtual teams in diverse countries and cultures
- Experience with mobile technologies is a plus
- Spanish speaking would be nice but not necessary
