Director of Business Development - Infrastructure Logistics - Airport - Dallas, TX

The Director of Business Development - Airports will work together with Siemens Operating Companies to drive growth and profitability by leading efforts in analyzing, targeting, developing, negotiating, and closing business at identified Siemens targets and other companies to facilitate the achievement of Siemens objectives in delivering exceptional results to the Siemens Operating Companies. The market focus will be Aviation, including Airports, Airlines, and air shipping companies. This position reports to to the Vice President of Infrastructure Logistics 

Desired Skills & Experience

Tasks:
• Achieves annual sales booking goals (cross selling objectives) in US, and within Life Sciences market through the development and management of business plan.
• Works closely with the Vertical Airports Board in Germany to leverage the global strategy and the Siemens Airport Center for business in the US
• Sales booking goals achieved through a combination of proactively seeking and reacting to opportunities as presented by Siemens Operating Companies within US, as well as managing accounts that can deliver sales booking results within given fiscal year.
• Reacts quickly and prioritizes important tasks to be accomplished in assembling Siemens teams to go after and to close business that meets Siemens qualifying criteria, in a timely manner.
• Reviews and evaluates potential business opportunities and develops business relationships that result in short-term, mid-term, and long-term business results for Siemens.
• Takes “hands-on” approach, when needed, to help meet sales and profitability goals, and to help close deals.
• Keeps informed of Siemens line of products and services, and can articulate value propositions to clients.
• Drives and utilizes Siemens sales, APP+ and business processes.
• Understands the customer’s market, business, and the technological needs to ensure business development efforts are aligned with company strategies.
• Works closely with financial team to prepare financial projections associated with procuring business.
• Assess market conditions and identifies additional new, and creative solutions for Siemens.
• Fulfills all necessary administrative reporting tasks on a bi-weekly and monthly basis and in a timely manner. 

Education/Qualification
• Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
• MBA or related advanced degree or relevant experience preferred
• Minimum 10 years successful sales and business development industry related experience (preferably at Siemens) 
• Must have demonstrated success in effectively managing in a complex, conceptual selling environment
• Minimum 3 years successful sales management industry related experience (preferably at Siemens)
• Knowledge of Siemens US Structure
• Proven success in the identification, negotiation and closing of deals that are profitable and that minimize exposure to risk for Siemens.
• Proven innovation in generating and leading implementation efforts of total solutions (product/services, 3rd party alliances) and market opportunities.
• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
