Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage the marketing strategy, creative development, media and tactical implementation for the San Diego and Los Angeles portfolios consisting of 7,747 apartment homes.
Lead all advertising and marketing plans for new product launches in the market.
Develop and manage a robust renewal strategy.
Support Vice President in various marketing opportunities.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all aspects of regional and community specific (Tier II and II) marketing and advertising efforts for the San Diego and Los Angeles portfolios. Lead and be accountable for the development and execution of local marketing and media plans, creative, execution and metrics reporting in accordance with brand creative standards. Manage multiple agencies on deliverables.
Analyze KPIs for respective market areas and develop proactive marketing strategies and tactics to achieve business goals.
Serve as the regional subject matter expert on economic indicators, competitive strategies and industry trends. Conduct a competitor marketing and advertising programs review. Gather, analyze, and provide accurate, relevant, and timely information so that agency makes the best recommendations and ICAC makes informed and confident decisions.
Maintain and strengthen the ICAC brand position (market share, business results) in the San Diego and Los Angeles Regions. Serve as the gatekeeper of the brand within the Region.
Travel to San Diego and Los Angeles markets on a regular basis to ensure proper marketing implementation and identify new, innovative marketing outlets..
Create a strong working relationship with all key regional stakeholders to ensure timely and thoughtful responses to all marketing support requests.
Work closely with the Irvine Company Legal Team to ensure all marketing materials and promotions are approved and the Company is protected from any outside legal action.
Support Vice President in various marketing opportunities to help grow the business.

Qualifications:
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
15 + years of marketing experience. 4+ years managing an internal staff of marketing professionals and advertising agency partner.
Experience developing and implementing transformational strategies in complex, matrixed organizations.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong Software Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Superior analytical skills. Adept and reading and interpreting sales and business reports, digesting information and developing plans to achieve objectives. Ability to factor basic percentages, ratios, and projections.
Must be able to plan strategically and act quickly.
Comfortable communicating in both formal and informal settings, with strong written and verbal communication skills; be able to communicate complex concepts to people of different backgrounds throughout the organization.
Strong Project Management Skills.
Comfortable working on multiple assignments simultaneously each day.
Ability to hold self and others accountable.
Strong communication, organizational, teamwork and collaboration skills.
Adobe Photoshop expertise required. Adobe InDesign experience a plus.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Corporate office, individual cubical, may include off-site event or promotional location. Sitting at desk for long hours, driving car, frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED:
Have a working knowledge of the PC and its operating conventions, including how to use a mouse/trackball and standard interface menus and commands. Working knowledge of printer, calculator, typewriter, telephone, photocopy machine, fax machine, automatic entry door access key.
