SUMMARY
The training director will plan, develop, marshal, implement and administer allPatch training efforts necessary to achieve the overall business expansionplan. The incumbent is specifically responsible for the creation of the overalltraining strategy that will provide employees with the functional knowledge andskills they need to perform their jobs and be accountable for the fullexecution of it. The training director will ensure that training solutionsintegrate best practices, blended learning techniques and deliver businesssuccess.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understand the Patch learning need specific to the expansion plan and designa strategic training plan to meet business goals. Work with Patch leaders andcolleagues to understand skill needs and design an overall plan to bridge them and ensure Patch culture and a consistent learning experience across the employee population.
2. Create and socialize overall Patch training strategy and plan with leadership team.
3. Develop and manage the overall training budget/financials and ensure appropriate utilization of resources against business priorities for training.
4. Work with a team of internal subject matter experts to collect the appropriate content to be used in the training effort. Develop and maintain relationships across the organization in an effort to plan, develop and deliver programs.
5. Build and manage a team of training/instructional designers who will translate technical/functional training needs into training solutions designed using the appropriate learning methodologies. Coordinate work with other internal areas: recruiting, editorial, directory, etc., in the development andintegration of training programs with other Patch goals and activities.
6. Manage a team of trainers who will deliver the blended learning solutions.Ensure consistency of learner experience around the country. Evaluateinstructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providingrecommendations for improvement.
7. Oversee training coordination: course scheduling, identification of tasks,assign, coordinate, create/tracks team’s work. Ensure clear communication andtimely resolution of issues, including customer service.
8. Identify and manage all training reporting and metrics to includeeffectiveness and efficiency measures for training.
Desired Skills & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE SKILLS
Education
BS/BA, Major inan HR, Instructional Design, Organizational Development or Business Relateddiscipline.
Applicableprogressive training and development experience may be considered in lieu ofeducation.
Experience
7-10 years ofprogressive training and development experience in all, or a combination of thefollowing disciplines: sales, editorial and product development.
3+ yearsexperience designing curriculum for and managing large and complex learning anddevelopment programs for an enterprise.
Proven success executingeffecting learning and development programs for a remote work force.
SpecializedKnowledge
Strong background in training field, particularly in developing and managing functional training curricula. Expertise in learning and development concepts and theories. Background in training needs and assessment, learning strategy and training delivery.

• Communication and Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, particularly in building relationships with business leaders and HR partners.
• Budgeting: Proficiency developing and managing budgets and forecasts forspecific programs and/or department.
• Intake Management: Strong at managing, prioritizing and appropriatelydelegating the intake of requests or needs.
• Innovation: Ability to contribute breakthrough ideas and approaches to solvebusiness issues; Create and maintain an energetic work environment thatencourages creativity in problem identification and resolution.
• Learning Design/Development: Ability to create learning programs to developdesired capabilities. Monitoring programs to ensure maximum impact / return oninvestment.
• Measurement: Strong ability to determine the measurements/metrics that needto be captured in order to effectively determine program effectiveness andReturn on Investment (ROI).
• Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills, including presenting tosenior leadership.
• Project Management: Excellent project management skills to include budgetingand forecasting.
• People Management (contractors and employees): Expert ability to managepeople and contractors including but not limited to: identifying/recruitingtalent, setting goals, providing feedback, managing expectations andperformance.
