Job description
The Director, Tools and Analytics is responsible for ensuring the Sales team has the tools and information needed to maximize their productivity. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a Sales and Service analytics program that will provide the information needed to support the future strategy of the organization, and establishing and monitoring metrics to measure results.
Desired Skills and Experience
Responsible for identification and implementation of all hardware and software requirements for the field (in partnership with IT)
Partner with Sales, Service, Finance, Product, Operations and Marketing stakeholders to prioritize analysis activities and reporting requirements to support growth.
Establish an analytics culture that ensures decisions are made with strong data as the foundation.
Responsible for ensuring customer, contact and material master data has been remediated and has processes in place to ensure it stays accurate.
Own critical processes that are central to the delivery of accurate metrics (e.g., maintenance of sales hierarchies). Develop BI - DW and Reporting solutions to address the growing business reporting, analytics and data requirements. Own and manage multiple BI initiatives and work programs on regular and ad-hoc basis.
Work with different business units within Sales, Service, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain Operations to understand information needs and provide effective, scalable solutions.
Support engagement activities to analyze business environments, gather business requirements and create data visualizations in support of work product. Understand the Zeiss business and develop strategies for new metrics.
Responsible for all enterprise IT projects that effect the Sales and Service organization and also for helping organizations outside of our scope to ensure we do not have conflicts in terms or resource allocation and timing.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel to Germany to work with headquarters team to scale the solutions developed for the US.
REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred.
Minimum 10 years of work experience in analytics and software development.
Proven leader with a minimum of 5 years managing people and building high performing teams.
Proven experience implementing tools and data to improve business process and effectiveness.
Experience with data mining, working with large and multiple datasets/data warehouses and ability to pull from such data sets using relevant programs and coding.
Proven experience in identifying opportunities for business improvement and defining/measuring the success of those initiatives.
Strong deck creation and presentation skills to highlight key business opportunities and gaps.
Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
