DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

We are currently recruiting a Director of Environmental Health & Safety to lead our safety team and environmental health and safety initiatives across the entire organization. The preferred candidate for this strategic leadership role will be a results-driven, directional leader who can adjust quickly to changing conditions and balance rapid shifts in priorities. The position requires someone with self-assurance and a purposeful style, directed at getting things done quickly while producing high quality, repeatable results for our organization.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Planning:
Integrate and collaborate with Operations Managers ensure buy-in and follow through of safety systems and processes
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Actively participate in the implementation of strategic business plans
Assist in the creation and actively participate in Leadership Training
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations:
Manage a team of safety professionals and oversee the operations of your group
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
Update and maintain company ES&H Policies/Procedures Manual
Oversees the management all worker injury cases
Maintain R4 BBS program and R4 database
Review all subcontractor pre-qualifications for safety group
Conduct monthly management safety meetings and weekly safety professionals call
Responsible for maintaining/updating all ES&H training/testing programs
Arrange and organize for bi-yearly safety professionals meetings
Ensure companywide safety training records for all employees are maintained
Represent Wanzek on the Construction Industry Institutes safety committees
Review all lessons learned and safety alerts prior to submittal to projects and employees

Risk Management:
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
Monitor all open legal issues involving your group, and legal issues affecting the industry
Construct and monitor reliable control systems
Report risk issues to the Vice President

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree in Safety or a safety related field with 10+ years related experience
CSP Certification, OSHA Construction 30 hour card and/or OSHA General Industry 30 hour card
OSHA 500 certification and CHST required
CFPS or CHMM preferred
