Senior Manager - Product Market Research & Analytics - UBS Global Asset Management - New York


Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a team environment that has 5 to 10+ years of experience in the Asset Management Industry and has a keen interest in investment products. As a member of the Product Development & Management team, the Analyst will support various teams throughout the organization by providing market research and competitive intelligence on various topics for both the retail and institutional market segments. Topics include but are not limited to analyzing industry trends, market segmentation, product positioning within the Firm and versus the competition, pricing models, and AUM flows

Primary Responsibilities
•This Sr. Product Development Manager will partner with the PD&M team and all related functional areas of the firm that are tied to the product lifecycle, as well as the investment and client facing teams. Additionally, the manager will be instrumental in contributing to the Americas product priorities, task lists and maintenance of departmental project tracking reports, departmental metrics and internal firm product information systems.
•This Sr. manager will oversee our product relationships with Morningstar, Lipper, Strategic Insights Simfund, eVestment Alliance, PSN, and Callan. He or she will be the resident expert for these data sources and lead the product support efforts across the Americas product shelf.
•Support PD & M initiatives by assisting with the drafting of memos, ad hoc reports, presentations and research.

•Investment Strategy Capability Managers
•Functional Areas including: Operations, Fund Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Finance & Control
Desired Skills and Experience
•Minimum of 5 to 10 years of product development/management experience in the financial services industry with a
solid foundation in the overall financial markets including equity, fixed income and alternative investment strategies as well as an understanding of the various product types (Mutual Funds, Collective Funds, etc.)

•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with superior Excel and PowerPoint
capabilities.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Self-motivated with excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities

•Thoroughness, attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

•Strong problem solving skills

•Engenders trust and is a reliable resource to internal customers

•Team player with an overall willingness to learn in a fast paced environment.

•Comfortable interacting with all levels of management

•Ability to see the “big picture” from a marketing, positioning and industry
perspective

•Technical experience with manager databases a plus (Morningstar, Lipper,
Zephyr, Strategic Insights Simfund, eVestment Alliance, PSN, and Callan).

•Undergraduate degree; MBA, CFA, CIMA or CAIA (or working toward these
designations) also a plus
