This role provides the division / business facing interface between the Engineering – Western Region and the Navigation and Marine Systems Division (N&MSD), with the primary focus on Marine Systems. Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The Engineering interface will work collaboratively with the Marine Systems leadership team to align strategic objectives with design implementation to satisfy customer requirements and ensure successful transition to production.

Individual must be able to perform the following:
Oversee the planning and execution of engineering work scope to meet program needs and objectives within defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements including subcontract elements.
Ensure that programs are adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test, and sustainment of products for our customers and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Oversee the scheduling, forecasting and cost reporting and analysis (EVMS) of engineering activities on all programs.
Serve as liaison between engineering, program management, manufacturing, supply chain and customers.
Coordinate with engineering functional management and group leads on resource needs, and when assessing technical issues and developing technical & quality resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
Oversee and lead investigation and resolution of technical issues.
Responsible for engineering participation in Division-level reviews of all elements of program execution, including proposal review and approval and EAC review and approval.
Engage with the Engineering Eastern Region Interface to N&MSD and the business facing NAPS representative to ensure N&MSD leadership visibility into engineering issues related to program execution and new business pursuits, and coordinate representation in division level reviews.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
12 years’ experience in an Engineering field and BS degree or 10 years’ experience in an Engineering field and a MS degree
Position requires a multi-disciplined knowledge base in all areas related to engineering design of complex undersea systems including systems, structures, materials and mechanisms.
Applicant should have background in engineering design including tools, processes and procedures used over the complete product design life cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with design, development, and production of Marine Systems products, knowledge of ship construction, and experience with Marine Systems Customers is preferred.
