Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting and leading projects relating to the individual annuity businesses with emphasis on leading projects relating to the individual annuity business line with an emphasis on new product considerations, in-force product management and distribution/business partner support. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective delivery of medium to large scale projects which includes chairing leadership committees, development and delivery of project-related presentations, ensuring adequate and compliant project documentation and effective management of department resources.
In addition, they will maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge, have exceptional communication and presentation skills, possess the ability to think critically, and must have a proven track record of driving results through cross-functional, multi-location business environments.
Performance Objectives
• Responsible for leading projects relating to the individual annuity business lines which can include initiatives driven by senior leadership, regulators, distributor demands, technology needs, etc.
• Offers leadership to project managers in the creation of project documentation (project plans, presentations, business requirements, training materials, etc.)
• Oversees implementation and other meetings that include thoughtful preparation of meeting agendas, chairing of meetings, identification of follow-up items, contributing to timely and thorough documentation and distribution of meeting minutes, as well as after meeting follow-up.
• Manages contacts throughout the annuity organization (Houston, Woodland Hills and Amarillo)
• Fulfills other tasks as necessary to ensure timely, accurate, and cost effective support and implementation of projects supporting the sales and/or distribution of the company’s products. The Ideal Candidate Should Have
• 10+ years of project and/or product management, product development, distributor back/home office support in the financial services industry.
• 7+ years of project management experience, managing small to large division and company-wide initiatives.
• BA/BS in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project) skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills – ability to understand impacts of simple to complex concepts.
• Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines to key contributors throughout an organization.
