Cisco is seeking a senior pre-sales engineering Director to provide technical leadership for the EMEAR Global Service Provider (GSP) UKI, North and Russia pre sales Engineering team covering Networking, DC, cloud applications, Automation, Mobility and Video.
Who You’ll work with
You will be responsible for setting the technical vision and strategy for the team, identifying expertise to grow the team, and facilitating key partnerships between customer and internal organizations. This is an ideal position for someone who has a proven track record of building and scaling high performance sales engineering and architecture teams and in a dynamic technology company.
You will establish a strategic business partnership with the EMEAR GSP Architectures team and the Cisco WW Engineering organization that is visible to the team, customer and Cisco internal organizations (Development, Services, Marketing, Finance, etc.) in all aspects of the business. Similar responsible for establishing close links with services delivery organization to ensure projects are smoothly handed over from pre to post sales.
Build, coach and develop SE organization including: Solutions Architects, Systems Engineers, and Technical Operations & Field Enablement.
You will lead interlock process between the Field Sales team and the Development and Services organizations to define and prioritize key technical requirement for products, solutions and services to meet current and future customer needs.
You will create an organizational culture that will be the basis for motivation, development and retention for the SE organization.
Provide performance management, development planning, salary planning and technical training.
You will build relationships with customer executives, vendors, partners and corporate service organizations to position Cisco technology architectures and manage successful demos/CPOCs that allow customers to gain competitive advantage through use of Cisco technology.
Plan, organize and direct the activities of a variety of corporate and non-sales support groups to ensure the finalization of customer system needs.
Continuous self and team development with regard to fast-paced and changing Video, Cloud, Open Source Software and DevOps technologies and processes to ensure state-of-the-art readiness to apply diverse solutions to customers' business and technical requirements.
Who You are
10+ years related experience.
5+ years management experience. Outstanding leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
Cisco experience highly desirable
Pre-Sales experience required.
Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
MBA or equivalent highly desirable.
Desired skills
Knowledge of relevant Service provider technologies, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. In particular SP Networking and DC with knowledge of the move to vitalization and Automation.
In-depth understanding and experience in management of all aspects of sales support processes. Deep understanding of organizational structures, management practices, staff development and retention.
Excellent written, oral communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
