Director Procurement Buyer BNP Paribas New York City

Job Description:
NA Procurement supports all entities within the North America region in the process of buying goods and services that are required to support the operations of BNP Paribas. Consistent with Global and CIB Procurement, the mission of NA Procurement is to effectively manage third parties.
NA Procurement Front Office is responsible for ensuring that any new demands strictly adhere to internal procurement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Risk evaluating third parties using BNPPs third party management procedures any prospective suppliers before signing them for any product or services.
Enforcing BNP Paribas North America Procurement Front Office control policies and best practices for any sourcing;
Negotiating contracts with suppliers in order to obtain the best contract price and terms to protect the bank as well as monitoring progress.
Work with 3rd parties Subject Matters experts to ensure that all engagements are protecting the bank
Work with Legal on contract terms and issues leveraging from existing group or regional contractual framework whenever possible.
Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while observing quality sourcing controls;
Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments;
Ability to manage procure to pay software and update content when needed
Broad knowledge of category management including IT , General Services
Collaborating with management and various business heads in order to provide inputs on budgeting requirements based on purchasing needs
Promoting the Procurement Front Office function by adding value to the bank, to the sourcing consumers and the bank procurement department.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, economics or applied sciences (Master’s degree preferred)
10 + years’ experience in production, marketing, logistics and planning
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong work ethics and ability to work with confidential information
Managerial and interpersonal skills to successfully manage a team of professionals and liaise with various internal and external groups/ individuals
Ability to analyze complex situations in a timely and effective manner
Critical thinking to assist in evaluating supplier information
Ability to understand legal codes and their application in the procurement process
Experience with supply management tools/ software including procurement and project management programs (Coupa, Ariba, IQN, TEM, Hiperos)
Experience and expertise in US vendor management regulatory requirements, best practices, audits and controls
Considerable knowledge of standard database management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), inventory management, point of sale
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Visio.
