Governance Management is part of the overall Data Governance program which looks to satisfy the requirements related to Basel principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting, and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements referring to data quality.
The Responsibilities Of The Head Of Meta Data Include
Define and execute a comprehensive Governance model, including definition of committees and forums to keep all relevant stakeholders abreast of current topics and developments within the Data Governance perimeter
Draft, socialize and publish the appropriate charters, policies and procedures to support the governance framework, establishing roles and responsibilities for the IHC reporting entity; ensure consistency with similar policies issued by the Group (global), CIB, and BancWest entities
Guide and direct the efforts of named Data Stewards in the establishment of Data Communities within business and functional areas to support the overall Data Governance objectives
Establish a robust Meta Data program supporting the Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) platform and the North America territory platform
Contribute to the overall data governance strategy to ensure the meta data developed and collected supports the overall needs of the platform in meeting industry standards and regulatory requirements
Plan and execute the development of a Business Glossary for specific data elements within the scope of the IHC, combined U.S. Operations (CUSO) and the North America platform; ensure consistency and linkage with the efforts of Group (global), CIB, and BancWest entities
Develop plans and coordinate efforts to collect and document a high level Business Lineage demonstrating the sources, intermediate hops and final reporting of data elements related to various reports generated within the territory
Establish standards and procedures for the collection and reporting of Technical Lineage
Develop and define production policies and procedures to establish the internal control processes, including the Data Trace program with the goal of validating; reporting systems are coded as expected, reporting systems are in line with latest regulatory guidelines, and data is accurately captured at the point of origination
Coordinate with IT on the deployment of the selected Data Governance toolset
Partner with Data Governance colleagues in the establishment of Data Governance norms and procedures in a consistent manner to establish a comprehensive program
Partner with stakeholders in the business groups, IHC functional work streams, and IT to deliver meaningful results that creates transparency in the “journey of data” required to meet regulatory needs
Establish on-going processes and procedures to stakeholders supporting the long-term goals and objectives of the Data Governance program
Recruit and develop staff required to develop, coordinate and execute the Meta Data program
Bachelor degree required
At least 15 years of industry experience plus 7 years of relevant Data Governance experience
Communicates effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Clearly conveys information and ideas while listening and responding appropriately to all stakeholders
Develops open, considerate, effective and productive working relationships with customers, external contacts and individuals within CIB/IS perimeter \\
Understands and can use the industry standard technology, software and hardware
Draws information from the market and applies broad knowledge base to make timely and logical decision that provides practical solutions for customers and others
Responds appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, diversity and other pressures

Possesses managerial experience and a leadership orientation
Prior experience and expertise in Data Governance (Meta Data)
Experience in implementing Data Governance and reporting tools such as Informatica, OFSAA, HFM, Moody’s, and Axiom
Able to negotiate with representatives on behalf of CIB/IS and among stakeholders within CIB/IS and BNP Paribas
Have exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines while delivering high quality results
Prior banking experience and experienced full project cycles from business development to final delivery
Must have prior experience using project management tools and approaches to manage complex functional projects
Must have the flexibility to participate in diverse and dynamic teams to deliver balanced and integrated solutions to project challenges
