Senior Trade Compliance Counsel Position reporting to the Director, Global Trade Compliance for the IDS Global Trade Organization, which reports to the Vice President, Legal/General Counsel of Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business unit for Raytheon Company. We seek a Graduate with a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school. 8 years relevant experience with relevant export (ITAR and EAR) experience.

Position involves full range of export/import compliance to include working with the Corporate Global Trade Compliance Office (GTC) to ensure that there is consistent legal governance and oversight of trade compliance matters in the business unit. The Senior Counsel will interface with IDS Senior Leadership on trade compliance matters and supervise other compliance specialists as required. Under the direction of the Director, Global Trade Compliance and the General Counsel of the business, and in collaboration with and under the guidance of the GTC, the Senior Trade Compliance counsel will be responsible for ensuring that trade compliance incidents are promptly discovered and resolved and that the root cause of problems is identified and rectified with meaningful corrective actions. The candidate will also ensure that corporate policies and procedures are implemented and will assist and advise internal customers on matters pertaining to trade compliance. The candidate will be an active participant with the GTC personnel and with other Senior Trade Compliance lawyers, specialists, EXIM Operations personnel and other business and functional leaders across the company to help ensure uniform trade compliance practices. The Senior Trade Compliance lawyer will provide strategic business advice to internal clients regarding trade compliance issues and will drive a culture of compliance excellence within the business unit.

Required Skills & Education:
8 years relevant experience and a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school
Direct knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations and experience in preparing or reviewing export licenses.
Direct knowledge of and experience in conducting investigations, internal audits and assessments.
Understanding of the relationships between DDTC, BIS, CBP, and other government agencies responsible for export control laws and regulations.
Experience with government contracts and supply chain management is strongly preferred
· Ability to interact well with multiple levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with peers, internal clients and external customers

· Ability to work collaboratively in teams with other in-house lawyers and clients on multiple projects at once

· Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, sometimes on short notice
· Ability to obtain a US Government secret security clearance
U.S. Citizenship status is required.
