8+ years of combined experience of hands on software development and project management
Being a self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership.
Prior experience in working closely with technical and business teams to deliver quality software implementations.
Strong knowledge of web applications development using Java/J2EE, Java frameworks and Linux. Knowledge of discussion forums and community platform is a plus
Excellent project management experience: planning, scheduling, project communication, issue resolution, change management, and risk management
Solid knowledge of software development life cycle including agile methods and ability to adjust for what works best
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage cross functional teams consisting of developers, vendors, and business users
Solid Experience in implementing enterprise wide, package as well as as custom applications
Ability to review the technical design and perform code review with the developers
Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time
Description
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of various community applications based on Jive and other custom built community applications. Additional responsibilities include: •Work with the business users for defining the project scope and timelines •Manage change management and expectations with various stakeholders •Work with Architects, Dev, QA, Application Support and Dev Ops teams to ensure all planning from Design, Infrastructure, Development to Production and Post-Production are covered •Formulate and execute project plans, and manage cross-functional teams •Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for this position, as the job requires heavy interaction with business, other IT groups and 3rd parties on an ongoing basis •Self-motivated, pro-active individual, comfortable working in fast paced environment, ability to move the needle in spite of ambiguous inputs •Ability to drive a project from concept to delivery
Education
Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Related field with a minimum of 8 years technical experience in relevant areas.
