BlackRock has an opportunity for a qualified candidate to join the Global Infrastructure Debt team as a Managing Director in Bogota, Colombia. The role will report into the Global Head of BlackRock’s Infrastructure Debt unit and have responsibility for leading the origination, structuring, and execution of investments in senior secured, investment grade loans and bonds and below investment grade leveraged loans, bonds, mezzanine debt, and equity investments in public infrastructure projects across Colombia. This role will also be responsible for portfolio management, fundraising and providing strategic direction to the Colombia infrastructure platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the origination and execution of infrastructure investments in Colombia
Deal assessment and execution; management of deal team. This will include coordinating and conducting due diligence, financial review, preparation of presentation materials for investment committee, documentation review and negotiation, etc.
Assist in the management of investments in the portfolio
Assist in fundraising
Facilitate client communications

Knowledge/Experience:
Candidates will have experience in the financial and / or infrastructure debt industry focusing on project finance. Experience in European infrastructure debt is a requirement. To be effective in the role candidates should have the following background and experience:
At least 15 years of experience originating and executing project finance / infrastructure debt and equity investments in Latin America, with direct experience in Colombia
A thorough understanding of project finance structuring and documentation, including construction arrangements and contracts, and off-take / concession contracts
Strong credit analysis skills and ability to determine relative value of investment opportunities
Extensive network of industry and banking relationships in Colombia
Experience in negotiating transaction terms & conditions and documentation
Ability to manage deal teams and supervise and mentor staff members
Understanding of financial models
Able to manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule
Highly rated in their career to date
Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a friendly, entrepreneurial, team environment

Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Advanced degree preferred

Competencies:
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Fluency in both English and Spanish
Ability to work independently, while also participating collaboratively as part of a team
Highest standards of personal conduct, professional performance and business ethics
