Director Mill Sourcing Under Armour Baltimore

Job Description:
Manage textile material sourcing process including working with cross-functional teams to develop the regional sourcing strategy while working to improve communication, lead time, quality and cost.
Partner with material development team to create mill / yarn source strategy at the conceptual stage of each season. The process will include review of volume and potential needs for multiple sources.
Analyze seasonal forecast in partnership with regional sourcing teams to establish long range mill strategy to support all the appropriate tier 1 regional strategy.


Develop material forecasting / planning model in partnership with supply planning for greige and color level commitment targeting reduced lead time. Special emphasis on Auto-Replenishment items, proto yardage and SMS needs. Regularly evaluate level of commitment and timely communicate inventory level concerns.
Create formalized system driven material commitments with decrement tracking for quarterly reporting.
Establish available capability and capacity by mill, material and identify items with constraints.
Development improved communication and presence in global mills including yarn and chemical providers.
Establish reporting to analysis material usage including fabric type, yarn, dyestuff and finishing chemicals to address performance, cost leverage and trends in the supply chain.
Partner with materials teams to provide QA field represents fabric quality hand/appearance/color standards to be used in all garment field audits.
Coordinate annual mill summit in partnership with materials development team.
Gain supply side visibility to new innovation including suggesting preferred suppliers.
Special emphasis on developing supply base in the US, and Central/South America to improve flexibility, quality and potential to attract a more diverse yarn manufacturing base.
Establish mill level performance scorecard metrics (service, quality, OTD) to be supplied monthly by garment vendors.
Partner with material development to track performance of lab dip and bulk fabric approvals.
Develop mill source matrix.
Coordinate annual regional mill summit.
Partner with sourcing team to target and negotiate material cost by analyzing forecast needs and key items including partnering across all business units (accessories, footwear, DOME) to leverage volume.
Monitor the impact of global commodity pricing including reacting to trends adjustments as necessary.
Partner with material development and sourcing to evaluate new material vendors and monitor the on-boarding process.
Regular travel to mill to improve relationship and communication.

Experience
10 - 15 yrs experience required
