Job Description:
Vice Media is seeking an Account Director in our Brooklyn, NY Office to oversee client-facing programs from concept to execution.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for senior to mid-level leadership/guidance to projects that are managed by PMs and AMs
Ensures clear, ongoing communication regarding the client and brand strategy, strategic insights pertaining to the client's business/industry, trends, initiatives, issues and competitive intelligence
Provides thought leadership to help guide clients in the branded content, media and marketing space
Sells and presents work in conjunction with discipline leads on high profile projects
Responsible for progress of revenue and profit contribution to budget forecast for their projects
Deep understanding of the client’s business, their needs, expectations, and requirements, and functions as a true business/marketing partner
Ultimate point of accountability with clients
Owns senior level client relationships and works to contribute strategic value beyond day-to-day operation
Ensures account(s) are running smoothly and efficiently both internally with the team and externally with the client
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
6-10 years of related industry experience, preferably consulting, digital, video production, agency or direct marketing experience
6+ years of demonstrated track record of developing senior level client relationships - strong client references are necessary
Experience managing teams of 5+ people and larger cross-discipline teams 30+
Ability to lead a team effectively and provide direction to other members on the team with track record of leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities
Strong knowledge or experience in marketing and advertising, with particular emphasis in content/digital strategy, technology, and new/emerging trends
A good understanding of project management and delivery of interactive and offline communication initiatives and strategic brand management initiatives
Possesses strong knowledge of contract interpretation and negotiation
Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and functions beyond accounts
Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
Creative thinking and analytical problem solving
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
