Public Relations Director - Applications - Oracle - Redwood Shores


Job description
Oracle’s Corporate Communications team covers public and analyst relations. It is a key component of the corporate marketing team.
The Director of PR will report to the VP, Corporate Communications, Products and Services PR. This HQ-based team oversees public relations for Oracle’s key markets. Oracle PR combines both traditional and social media tools to reach its influencer communities.

Position Description
The Director of PR will drive global public relations for Oracle Applications through a mix of news, thought-leadership and social media strategies. He/She will manage a team and guide global PR counterparts toward a consistent set of messaging and an overall communication strategy. He/She will need to balance specific business unit marketing goals with overall corporate priorities. A combination of strategic thinking and results-oriented execution is essential for this position.
As a Director of Oracle Applications Public Relations, you will lead a team that is a critical component for communicating product messaging, strategy, and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Work with Development, Corporate & Product Marketing to help ensure successful product launches based on corporate priorities. .

Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of PR experience, preferably a combination of agency and in-house background in the software/technology industry. We are seeking an energetic team-leader with strong people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills, thorough understanding of product messaging and communications. BA/BS degree, or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
