Put your years of experience into a future of excellence... The Mission Solutions & Readiness Division is seeking a Director of Business Development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Herndon, VA.
The successful candidate will have an in depth understanding of Logistics Modernization (land forces and systems) and Training. S/he will understand addressable customer organizations (ideally DoD), budgets, near and mid-term procurements, required investments and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors in the addressable space. The successful candidate will work closely with Army and other customers to identify and shape near-term and long-term opportunities, build a solid pipeline and conduct the activities in the early phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP) leading to opportunity identification and qualification.
She/he will serve as the principal liaison point of contact with all key customers within assigned market segment and perform ongoing assessments of customer requirements, determine market trends and develop strategies for the application of NG capabilities and discriminators against specific customer needs / opportunities. S/he will assess NG market position versus competitors in the market segment by assessing their strengths, weaknesses and vulnerabilities; S/he will be responsible for identifying sufficient business prospects to meet both near and long term business requirements within the Long Range Strategic Plan and will provide guidance and direction to Business Development and Capture Managers who are pursuing specific business opportunities with his/her business area. This is a key leadership role for the integration of vision, strategy, requirements shaping, business portfolio growth, investment planning and acquisition. The Director will be a key leader/representative for Army and International Land Forces customers and will collaboration extensively across NGTS and with other NGC Sectors.
Roles And Responsibilities
– Cultivate customer relationships, identify customer needs and opportunities and perform
customer value analysis
– Define opportunity landscape and market strategies
– Build qualified pipeline to meet growth objectives
– Assess the competition
– Develop early win strategies
– Work closely with Chief Technology Officer to identify R&D opportunities
– Work with PTW team to perform initial CA/PTW
– Develop initial conceptual solutions (mgmt, technical and price)
– Develop business cases
– Provide input to, and execute Long Range Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan
– Evaluate, select and prepare opportunities for interest and pursuit decisions.
– May consider occasional/part time teleworking.
Skills
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 15 years hands-on experience in Business Development or in
Army Acquisition.
• Ability to anticipate market trends and align Northrop Grumman capabilities
with winning solutions to meet customer mission objectives.
• Ability to think strategically.
• Demonstrated ability to close.
• Ability to motivate and energize a team to produce winning solutions
• Ability to develop and implement creative strategies into winning bids
• Demonstrate excellent written/verbal communications skills & presentation
skills.
• Experience and expertise with NGC Business Acquisition Process or similar
experience.
• Security Clearance: TS / TOP SECRET
