Director - Technology Development - American Express - Phoenix
Job description
The Identity and Access Management team is seeking a Director of Technology Development to lead our Phoenix based Privilege Access Management team. The Director will be responsible for the program/technical strategy, platform architecture, engineering delivery, compliance, and operations for Enterprise Privilege Management services. The Privilege Management team works closely with the larger enterprise Identity Management organization to deliver key security controls for managing the most sensitive access of the company.
The Identity and Access Management organization is a critical pillar in the larger Information Security organization at American Express. The leader will work closely with key subject matter experts to define a Privilege Access Management strategic roadmap for the enterprise. This includes product evaluation and selection of key technology solutions. The leader will develop and mature an operational organization to manage the results/data of key Identity and Access mgt systems.
The leader will be required to build and develop a high performing team.
Lead a team of up to 25 staff members in the US and abroad
Develop strong ITIL based operational model for Privilege Team.
Perform risk/control strength assessment and correlate with existing technology.
Drive an enterprise program and work across business and technology organizations.
Partner with Information Security technology, vendors, and other key groups to deliver new and enhanced Identity solutions
Drive innovation and change by identifying new opportunities based on industry best practices, as well as internal and external needs
Owns, develops and implements Enterprise strategies that focus on market and operational drivers to further improve, consolidate, enhance and leverage multiple technical solutions
Provide direction to application development teams to ensure consistency with Security standards
Lead efforts to improve availability and performance
Directs new vendor selections, POCs, and detailed assessments for new partnerships
Drives innovation and thought leadership within the organization

Required Skills/Qualifications
Expert knowledge of Identity and Access Management standards, principles and practices
Experience with Sailpoint IIQ, CyberArk product suite, and Beyond Trust product suite
Ability to translate I&AM requirements into business terms
Ability to recruit, attract and retain talent necessary to meet PAM objectives
Demonstrated experience with ITIL operational model
Demonstrated experience in managing large scale technology development projects
Superb relationship building skills and proven ability to influence and drive delivery across a geographical distributed organization
Superb collaboration and influencing skills and strong communication skills
Strong business facing, communication and relationship building skills
Broad based technical background, with specific technical depth in at least one distributed platform
Educational Requirement
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or 10+ years of experience
Following certifications are strongly preferred: - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
