Responsibilities
The Director-Execution, Leverage Finance will be the point person on the complete client transactional process, from assisting the Originators through the pitch and negotiating the Term Sheet, through due diligence, underwriting the loan, negotiating documentation and closing the transaction. This person should be a seasoned, credit trained banker who has developed in a credit intensive, leveraged finance environment. The candidate must:
Possess a good knowledge of cash flow finance, preferably in the middle market arena
Be responsible for effective credit and risk management, with emphasis on adherence to credit policy and requirements, financial analysis/modeling, risk evaluation, and as needed, assist on-going portfolio at a glance activities and as needed client support
Be a lead transactor in the credit underwriting activities for senior debt supporting LBO's, debt restructurings, recaps, acquisitions and refi's
Be able to present effectively through the credit process and have extremely strong relationship building skills to interface with internal and external constituents
Interact with senior management of PE firms and those firms’ portfolio companies in order to discuss capital structure detail and resolve risk related issues
Develop and deliver presentations to senior management at screening and approval meetings
Exhibit skill at negotiation and the development of loan structuring options
Engage with Capital Markets on multi-bank transactions
Skilled in the area of large exposures and complex credit situations
Show the ability to influence Originators around transactions and credit decisions
Able to view credit/client situations from multiple angles
Debate the merits of a given transaction and defend position both internally and externally
Maintain the effective license to operate by sustaining a high level of trust and confidence by senior line and risk management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience
Masters degree preferred
10 + years of experience and exhibited competency in financial analysis and credit
structuring in leveraged finance
Expected to have highly advanced level of credit experience, documentation experience in proposing and negotiating, both internally and externally, credit and covenant structures and documenting loans
Must demonstrate superior practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis
Demonstrated desire to succeed and drive business
Exhibits comprehensive written and verbal communication skills
Reputation as a team player
