Director of PR Communications
Reports to: President

The Director of Communications position will help lead public relations efforts for Monster worldwide. In this function, she/he will handle proactive and reactive media relations and develop strategies and campaigns to support key business objectives. The primary purpose of the Director of Communications, reporting to the Global VP of Marketing, is to develop and implement global media, social media, and public relations initiatives that significantly widen the reach of media and influencers telling fascinating stories about Monster Products and the Monster Brand Ambassadors. The successful candidate will have deep experience creating and executing consumer-facing and lifestyle-oriented communication campaigns along with strength in media relations.

KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Proactively identify opportunities, create and execute comprehensive PR programs

 Manage key relationships with press and partners

 Plan, manage, and amplify global product launches

 Develop and implement brand-building communications campaigns

 Manage key relationships with press and partners across CE, fashion, entertainment, sports, and music

 Media relations: Brief media on products, set up product demos, implement review campaigns, plan media tours and maintain relationships with key trade and industry reporters, schedule and facilitate interviews with executives

 Draft communications materials including press releases, media alerts, fact sheets  Plan and manage global product launches including consumer and product public relations

 Work with all marketing functions to ensure PR efforts are actively integrated with overall marketing plans

 Set up PR strategy and vision with PR agencies, oversee consultants on a project basis

 Full management of PR agencies including selection, metric setting, and tracking


Desired Skills and Experience
BA Required or equivalent

• MUST HAVE 5-8 years of entertainment public relations or corporate communications experience with proven experience implementing creative media and public relations campaigns, preferably in-house background

• Strong strategic media and public relations capabilities, with proven expertise in contributing to significantly increasing brand awareness and building lifestyle brand equity

• MUST HAVE a keen understanding of the consumer electronics market and the entertainment industry, and how to communicate CE products to general consumers

• Understanding and success with social and content based marketing approaches

• MUST HAVE Direct experience supporting consumer lifestyle brands that have an emphasis in music, entertainment, sports, and / or fashion

• Experience interacting with executives and managing communication strategies

• Experience anticipating issues and being proactive

• Exceptional writing skills

• Superior attention to detail

• Ability to communicate and partner across multiple marketing functions and effectively deliver product messages to press as company spokesperson

• Keen understanding of PR strategies from a global and local perspective

• Travel up to 50% globally
