Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Contractor Sales Strategy, driving top line growth. Specific responsibilities include:
•Provide input and execute the strategic and tactical business development plan for Contractor Channel of the Insulation Group through the sales organization. Help develop an annual sales budget and a forecast that will be updated monthly. Day-to-day management responsibility for Sales.
•Build an effective working relationship with the key members of the senior management team
•Understand and drive the company’s strategy, its asset base, and myriad of potential opportunities for growth and communicate it to the sales organization.
•Ensure that the company maintains close working relationships with current customers and partners and is quick to respond to new opportunities as they arise.
•Build an effective working relationship with all Regional Managers and TMs.
•Support the senior management team in the development of business strategy.
•As a key individual of the management team, play a leadership role in building an effective sales team.
•Provide outstanding leadership that supports the achievement of the company’s overall revenue goals and objectives in a manner that exemplifies the philosophy of the organization.

The Director of Contractor Sales responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
•Coordinates the activities of the sales organization to accomplish objectives and defined sales goals.
•Directs sales planning, which includes analysis of competitive players and marketing techniques, and assist in developing sales budgets and forecasts.
•Ensures that consolidated sales forecasts are prepared for assigned channels and product lines, recommending short and long term sales goals, making certain that assigned sales volume and product goals are achieved.
•Evaluates market reactions to marketing/sales programs to ensure the timely adjustment of strategies and plans to meet changing and competitive conditions.
•Develops and secures approval of objectives, policies and programs for the company’s sales activities, and evaluates and reports results.
•Directs/participates in sales service activities and develops and maintains favorable relations with customers, ensuring that satisfactory customer service is provided.
•Provides preliminary concepts for and makes recommendations and collaborates in new products/product areas.
•Ensures that market intelligence is received and analyzed so that market opportunities may be capitalized upon as they occur and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
•Coordinates and participates in industry/groups associations.
Desired Skills and Experience
Background/Skills:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 or more years of sales/marketing experience. Management experience is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. A broad knowledge of the multitude of building products sold and of the strategies and objectives involved is also required. Must have a background in sales of industrial products. Exceptional communication skills required.
