Job Description:
Oversee all financial and office planning/administration aspects of multiple major attraction development projects. Ensure the Universal Creative team is adhering to all Universal Parks and Resorts policies and procedures. Partner with departments both within Universal Creative and across the business. Supervise a team of finance and administration professionals. Work directly with Senior Vice President, Attraction Development on strategic initiatives for the department.
• Oversee project estimated final cost and cash flow projections for multiple large development projects. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management. Prepare and present variance analysis against the operating plan and latest estimates.
• Review monthly project management reports with a focus on the monthly and project to date contingency usage and projected financial risk. Notify executive management of forecasted project variances in a timely manner with in depth understanding of key cost drivers.
• Partner with various departments within Universal Creative (contracts, project management, etc.) and across the various business units (tax, internal audit, capital) to ensure compliance with company and departmental policies and to maximize efficiency of the teams. As needed, review and update standard operating procedures.
• Assist in project financial management including procurement strategy, bid analysis, vendor negotiations, and contract document reviews
• Manage, train and develop a strong team consisting of finance managers, project financial analysts, finance coordinators, manager-administration and a project specialist.
• Develop policies and procedures and advises senior management of issues which may be in violation and proposes corrective action.
• Direct long range strategic space planning for the department while maximizing efficiency and minimizing financial impact. Requires timely communication with senior project leadership to enable execution of forward-looking strategy. Oversee onboarding process for all new employees at Universal Creative. Work closely with the facility management and IT teams on property.
• Oversee month end close process to ensure accurate reporting of attraction earned value. Includes review of journal entries prepared by the team for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Qualifications
• Participate in company and department-wide process improvement and training initiatives. Qualifications/RequirementsBA Finance or Accounting
3-5 years supervisory experience; 5-7 years on large multi-component project in theme park environment preferred; 7-10 years of relevant financial, analytical and capital budgeting experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
