Director - Enterprise Marketing - Avaya - Miami
Job description
The top candidate for this position has a solid background in enterprise technology marketing working closely with enterprise sales teams. They will have a business and sales orientation with an ability to combine the two to enable sales and drive an Avaya thought-leadership agenda with customers and partners in the region. Our ideal candidate is well rounded, able to communicate confidently, understands consultative and challenger-based selling and solutions marketing and has previously run customer-centric programs. They will be responsible for Avaya’s entire enterprise portfolio, including its Mobile Collaboration, Customer Experience Management, Networking and Cloud solutions.
What this position does ..
Directs all enterprise marketing strategy and execution within the region to enable sales to meet its sales pipeline, revenue and customer references goals, working closely with their mid-market counterpart.
Leads a regional enterprise field marketing team across all solution areas to execute the plan as a key part of global marketing management.
Designs and executes solutions field enablement programs for sales and channels based on company solutions content and field best practices.
Develops and executes a targeted regional marketing plan, strategy and related multi-faceted campaigns and events.
Works closely with sales management to get buy-in on marketing programs and content and ensure that marketing priorities are relevant to the local market.
Leads the conversation with sales to segment and target customers for go-to-market engagement and then design a content and delivery strategy that can drives a thought-leadership agenda/conversation with key stakeholders in those companies.
Drives competitive activity, monitors customer business and technology needs and provides aggregated feedback into the overall marketing plan, content and campaigns.
Identifies and maintains contact with local suppliers, industry associations and influencers in support of the plan.
Acts as a virtual liaison for corporate programs and launches within region.
Gathers regional customer feedback about Avaya’s solutions and influences Avaya’s product management about local requirements.
Presents to customers, partners and sales team to evangelize Avaya solutions (will require up to 30%-50% travel time across region and infrequently to HQ).
A key subject matter expert contact for global press and analyst engagement in the country.
Builds a repeatable engagement framework and process to ensure scale and efficient execution
Desired Skills and Experience
Hiring, motivation and developing effectiveness of six (6) staff.
Customer-centric, positive attitude, high energy, resourceful, self-motivated, takes intelligent risks and initiative.
Fluent in English and key local languages (e.g. Spanish and Portuguese in South America).
Work is performed without direction.
Typically 10+ years experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of which at least 5 years in sales/marketing technology to large, complex organizations.
High courage, low ego; relentless inspection; marathon runner’s stamina; superior ability to hire top talent; and bias for outcomes/action are characteristics that describe the ideal candidate.
Business and sales vs. technically oriented.
Used to influencing sales executives based on outcome of data analysis.
Deals with matrix management: initiates and fosters relationships with HQ marketing teams to ensure the effective implementation of content and campaigns with regional plans.
Interactions may require negotiating, influencing and persuading senior sales managers.
Strong presentation skills with ability to present convincingly to a senior customer audience.
Solid communication skills -- able to adapt company messages into effective localized sales positioning, offers, differentiated point of views (POVs) and smart questions.
Understands large company business management and operations, including sales revenue and pipeline principles.
Sound financial reporting and forecasting experience. Must be able to take data and present it in a business legible and actionable format.
