Director - Private Equity Services - Silicon Valley Bank - Vienna


Job description
Working out of our Mid-Atlantic region, this position will drive the primary banking relationships with both domestic and international private equity and venture capital firms for SVB. The position will be charged with maintaining current relationships, and also developing new business. Key aspects of the position include:

• Lead and manage primary relationship with the CFO and operating teams at private equity and venture capital firms;
• Collaborate across multiple areas of the Bank, including Private Bank, Capital, Commercial Bank, Global, and Operations;
• Actively provide feedback on market conditions to the team, Bank leadership, and in public speaking opportunities;
• Develop engaging client events, and be a willing host for clients across multiple mediums;
• Seek process improvements, and help to shape how the Bank is delivered in an effort to make it easier for clients to do business with SVB;
• Embrace teamwork and collaboration to produce outsize results for all;
• Create a fun work environment where mentorship and career development of teammates occurs almost daily;

• Be the primary credit lead for a portfolio clients, to include collaboration with Credit, term sheet preparation, underwriting analysis, legal document negotiation, and on-going credit monitoring and risk rating; and,
• Candidate must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree
Minimum Years of Experience:8+
• A proven history of developing and fostering senior level relationships in the private equity and venture capital markets
• Financial modeling analysis. Demonstrated ability to analyze, negotiate and manage complex credit transactions.
• Maintains an extensive network of business contacts, including in the private equity and venture community, other community leaders and executive management of clients, prospects and referral sources.
• Internal and external business leader. Able to handle the most complex transactions and warrant negotiations.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Internet for research. Knowledge of loan documentation for credit transactions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
