Senior Director - Human Resources - Consumer Electronics Association - Washington


Job description
Basic Function of the Position:

Responsible for the development and implementation of
Human Resources initiatives, including: recruitment and retention programs;
compensation, benefits, performance management and rewards programs, employee
relations, training, organizational development and corporate culture
initiatives. Serve as part of the senior executive leadership team of the
organization working to define goals and strategies to maximize CEA’s success.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on the organization's human resources functions.
Participate in the development of CEA’s overall business strategy and translate the business plans into departmental operational plans, programs, goals and policies.
Build, develop, and direct Human Resources department staff by planning, recruiting, communicating job expectations, coaching, and training.
Achieve financial objectives by forecasting departmental requirements; preparing budgets; initiating corrective actions and reducing costs were possible.
Direct the employment process, and recruitment and retention programs for the association.
Direct and manage compensation and performance management programs.
Manage all employee relations issues, including hiring decisions, promotions, terminations, and complaints.
Develop and oversee CEA training programs.
Develop and oversee CEA Organizational Development and Corporate Culture activities.
Provide oversight of CEA benefit programs. Research and recommend cost containment measures and to maintain competitive market standing.
Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Desired Skills and Experience
Work Experience:
At least 8-10 years’ progressive human resource management experience with at least three in a management position.
Must have experience in recruiting, employee relations, compensation, performance management and organizational development.
Education/Training:
An undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field required; advanced degree or SPHR preferred.

Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
Excellent interpersonal, managerial, leadership and communication skills (oral and written).
Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations required.
Thorough knowledge of and experience with development of strategic human resource initiatives, including organizational development programs.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with senior management.
Flexibility in adapting to a growing organization with multiple priorities.
Budget and Staff:
Manager, Human Capital and Manager, Benefits report into this position.
Forecast and manage HR department budget.
Additional Information:
Position requires staying abreast of competitive and progressive human resource industry trends and best practices.
