Job description
Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack offers 43 table games, 20-table poker room, over 2,000 slot machines, 151-room luxury hotel, the #1 Greyhound Track in the USA (based on purses paid), six restaurants, 1,000-seat showroom, meeting and banquet services, and gift shop.

Responsible for the overall operations of the Finance, Accounting, Revenue
Audit, Cage and Information Technology departments. Directly responsible for all
financial and accounting functions at the property
Oversees and directs all activities of the Finance, Accounting, Revenue Audit, Cage and Information Technology departments including but not limited to personnel duties, multi agency regulatory compliance and property procedural compliance, development, and implementation.
Responsible for preparation of the Annual Plan process and oversees the annual Capital Expenditures budget and its implementation. Assists in negotiation of multiple union and vendor contracts.
Detailed analysis of the total business model (financial statements, gaming reports, payroll reports, trends, etc) to identify areas of possible opportunity both for revenue growth, cost containment and process improvement and present detailed recommendations to President. Prepares detailed analyses of the financial impact of proposed changes in business strategies.
Participates in the executive oversight of the property, including but not limited to property policy and procedures, talent development, development of proposed changes in current operations and long-term business strategies.

Desired Skills and Experience
Area of Study: Accounting / Finance / Business
CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required
Must be able to secure and maintain the appropriate racing and gaming licenses
Must have at least 10 years experience in accounting/finance, including supervisory experience
Minimum of 3 years in a decision making capability in a business environment
Through knowledge of GAAP required
Advanced computer skills required
Exceptional financial skills are essential
Prior experience with financial modeling
Ability to analyze data and make sound business decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Knowledge of gaming and racing industry preferred
Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Work within tight deadlines frequently
Ability to work with a flexible schedule
