Director AML Compliance (Intl) Western Union Dubai

This position is responsible for directing and overseeing a functional unit within the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance department for APAC/ MEASA/ EE&CIS in charge of developing the Compliance programs.

Based in Dubai and reporting to the Head of Compliance for APAC/ MEASA/ EE&CIS, the Director will provide leadership and guidance to a group of managers and staff at various levels in the functional unit in:

• Developing compliance programs, processes and procedures for the region • managing
the compliance projects of the region
• Working with the regional compliance teams to design controls to mitigate the Money
Laundering risk.
• Participating in all the new products implementation projects from the risk assessment to
the implementation phase
• Developing AML risk strategies for new products.
• Developing and maintaining regional performance KPIs for the compliance department
• Assisting in establishing the strategy of the region.

Requirements:
• University degree and proven track record of work experience in a large multi-regional
and/or multi-national financial or payment service business or a regulatory agency
• Minimum of 10 years working experience that include several years of experience in any
of the following: anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing compliance, general
compliance and/or risk based compliance, Auditing and Consultancy
• Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role with direct reports
• Understanding of anti-money laundering regulations within the banking/financial services
industry
• Proven track in compliance programs development and/or compliance consultancy
• Proven track record of moderately complex problem solving and decision-making ability
• Strong project management skills, ability to coordinate global projects with diverse
participation
• Effective leader and team player
• Strong analytical skills, able to analyze root causes of AML compliance risk issues
• Strong presentation skills; comfortable and capable of communicating with all levels of
people within and outside the business with a high level of professionalism.
• Written and spoken fluency in English at least
