The Director, Global Real Estate and Workspace Solutions is a senior level real estate professional with an ultimate responsibility to develop and implement strategy for the company’s global corporate real estate portfolio and activities. This role also has responsibility for facility management globally. They will interface with the senior leadership team including its Chairman and CEO. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and implementing Bose’s global real estate strategy within a governance framework that allows for coordination and collaboration with the senior leaders in our business units and corporate functions. The strategy should span a three to ten year horizon and be aligned with our Brand, our philosophies and our Guiding Principles.
It is anticipated that approximately 30% of the Director’s time will involve both travel within and outside the U.S.
Key responsibilities
Create a global real estate strategy spanning a ten-year horizon.
Develop a highly capable real estate planning and execution process for the company.
Develop a leveraged facility management process and governance structure and lead team to execute against service levels.
Determine, set, and deploy global policies, standards and guidelines that are consistent with our brand, goals and philosophies.
Establish an effective communication strategy for the benefit of all stakeholders.
Drive negotiation of complex transactions for the purchase, lease, sale and sublease of office, warehouses, manufacturing and distribution facilities and other property required by Bose Corporation globally.
Establish relationships with external service providers on a local, national and international basis that provides the most current and accurate support of the real estate process.
Interact seamlessly with multiple stakeholders within the business units of the company including Finance, Legal, HR and Information Services.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage effective teams in a collaborative environment.
Skills
The Director, Global Real Estate and Workplace Solutions will be an established real estate transaction manager and strategic leader with a strong track record related to acquisitions, development, leasing, construction, facilities and project management. They will have the distinct ability to develop, execute, and communicate a comprehensive global real estate strategy.
Executive relationship building experience with exceptional communication skills.
Current and knowledgeable with today’s technologies and workplace environments, that will attract and retain innovative employees and leaders.
Proven vision, leadership and critical thinking skills to prioritize evolving initiatives in a fast-paced environment; ability to translate ideas and capabilities into effective indicatives that exceed customer expectations and spur further innovative thought.
Minimum of 15 years of domestic and international real estate experience on behalf of a global/multinational corporation required.
BA/BS in related field required (i.e. business, engineering, Real Estate, architecture, etc.). MBA desirable but not required
