VP - SLM Market Strategy - PTC - Boston
Job description
The VP of SLM Strategy is responsible for directing and coordinate activities of our SLM business with sales, marketing, service, and administrative functions and to develop deep domain expertise with in the business unit to capitalize on market opportunities. This is a leadership position that is highly involved in strategic decision-making that has a significant impact on the success of the overall SLM business. Develops go to market strategies and plans for the business. Partners with PTC’s executive team & organization leaders (sales, marketing, etc.) in formulating and administering organizational policies by performing the following Roles.
Develops and leads SLM strategy (meeting market requirements) and aspects of company strategy with great liability potential in case of inaccuracy
• Assesses overall market opportunity for the business
• Translates strategy into action items and deliverables
• Aligns strategy with corporate goals
• Seizes opportunities to increase market share and achieve revenues and profit growth
• Works cross-functionally to gain consensus and input from key stakeholder & secures executive support
• Build financial plan for the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Builds fiscally responsible financial plan based on market opportunity and business plan
• Identifies and selects appropriate team members to execute strategy
• Oversee all day to day business unit operations
• Shapes organization based on current and future revenue opportunity, development needs and services delivery opportunity.
• Provide customer feedback on PTC products/solutions to the appropriate internal organization to shape future product/solution enhancements.
• Identify M&A opportunities that enhance the business unit products and add customer value
• Work with customers to understand their needs, prioritize and integrate into present and future development strategy
• Prioritize and translate future development needs based on added value to PTC and the customer
• May represent PTC at PTC user conferences, Analyst day and other events
• Understand industry analysts perspective and integrates that into product requirements
• Develop Long-Term relationships with key customers and large accounts (including dominos)
• Present value proposition and lead account management role for critical accounts
• Participate in sales calls for multi-opportunity clients
• Establish trusted advisor status through understanding and responding to client needs and delivering realized value
• Manage sales and services process for large accounts
• Identify appropriate strategic and channel partners to generate revenue or provide solutions
• Secures buy-in and collaborates with internal channel and partner organizations
• Provide direction to subordinates to ensure the client’s customer experience is as good in the channel/partner as with a direct PTC relationship. (i.e. education of partners on business unit products and practices)
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor Degree, Masters preferred;
15 years related experience (including 6-10 years people management experience)
Extensive understanding of the services space
Understanding of IoT
