Director, Payer Solutions – Network Provider Management

Responsible for the creation of value through the consultative delivery of product messaging, advisory services, solution documentation, and relationship support throughout the customer lifecycle. Acts as primary point of contact with McKesson as it relates to a particular solution, and how that solution is deployed to create value over time.

Key Responsibilities:
Supports and engages in the Sales process in the form of remote and in-person meetings, Sales collateral review and input. Collaborates with Sales to identify appropriate Solution Design deliverables. Gains an understanding of the client’s business problem and engages in the Sales process to capture high-level business, technical, and strategic requirements. Partners with the Sales Executive, who leads the Sales strategy, relationship, and messaging. 30%
Responsible for the completion and presentation of Consulting deliverables and the procedural plan required to meet established customer expectations. May be responsible for both immediate solution recommendations as well as longer term (3-5 year) solution “roadmap” recommendations for each assigned client. Enlists and collaborates with McKesson resources to ensure successful delivery. 25%
Manages a portfolio of Consulting customers in support of implementation services. Responsible for transition of Consulting deliverables to Services and/or participates in the Envisioning phase of customer implementations as a billable resource, booking hours to Services projects. Provides guidance and input to Services teams as needed to ensure Solution Design (Consulting) intent is upheld. 15%
Participates in customer optimization and sales activities for a specific solution portfolio. Reviews and supports presentation of analytic results (to the client or Services) and provides guidance to Services to ensure that customers are receiving the highest value possible via achievable implementation of McKesson products and modules. 10%
Responsible for the delivery of Consulting services as defined in statements of work. If named Consulting Lead for a Consulting Services engagement, responsible for managing the engagement team to ensure deliverable completion and quality. 10%
Supports Sales, Product, and Services development and training efforts as a lead subject matter expert. Provides feedback to Sales, Services, and Product on what messaging, delivery, and product functionality is meeting customer needs, and identifies gaps and additional service/capability requirements. 5%
Maintains domain and product functionality expertise. 5%

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements
8+ years consulting experience

Critical Skills
Business Experience (for Network/Financial Management Practice) – Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare operations, preferably in claims, claim support (coding), audit (FWA/SUI), or network management and operations.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills –Knowledge of healthcare industry, including the markets and trends that influence payor strategy and purchasing activity. Knowledge of technical application implementation practices in the healthcare payor industry. Excellent communication skills enabling effective communication at prospect/customer staff, managerial, and executive levels.
Skills – must have the following tool/usage level capabilities:
Microsoft Word – can document findings and recommendations in long written form
Microsoft Excel – can perform formulaic analytics (Level III certification)
Microsoft PowerPoint – can document findings and recommendations in an effective manner
Microsoft Visio – can utilize Basic Flowchart capabilities
Education
4-year degree in business or computer science or related field or equivalent experience
Masters degree preferred
Physical Requirements
General office/home office environment with 20-30% travel requirement.
