We're seeking a seasoned Director, Global Brand Marketing Communications to partner with internal colleagues to bring our brand to life in global marketing programs. This role also includes responsibility for coordinating and driving our brand into all communications internally and externally including HR, Marketing, Technology, Product & Experience and Operations. The primary role is to increase engagement, clarity and comprehension of PayPal internally and externally on a global scale. With over 100 million total active consumer accounts, this role offers an extraordinary opportunity to have a dramatic impact on increasing the value of this large and fast-growing customer network. This role reports to the V.P. of Global Brand. Specific job responsibilities include the following global areas:
Brand Marketing Strategy
Brand Marketing Programs
Agency Management
Marketing Communications Management
Brand Marketing Strategy and Planning: Will be responsible for creating global marketing strategies to build the corporate brand and for ensuring that the strategy cascades to all relevant vehicles. Director works cross functionally with regional marketing leads to drive consistency of overarching strategy across regional programs. This role is also responsible for testing and evolving marketing strategy and brand affinity by partnership with the data and insights teams as well as global agency partners.
Brand Marketing Programs: As PayPal continues to grow into new markets and launches new products and services, more global and broad-based " above the line " marketing programs will be required to communicate the brand message. The Director will have responsibility for leading the global organizations and directing the agency to develop global consumer and merchant campaigns.
Agency Management: Global agency management has become a critical component to driving marketing programs at PayPal. This aspect of the role has two primary areas of focus, specifically, agency model/roster management and agency coordination/communication systems. Agency model/roster management includes annual reviews of existing agency partners against KPI's. The Director will lead contract negotiations and maintenance globally. Overall agency model management at the global and regional level will be led by the VP and Director and her/his team. Consistent communications with the agencies regarding our business and product roadmaps to ensure all partners are prepared to service the business. The Director will be responsible for leading processes for reviewing and maintaining agencies on the roster.Brand Management: The Director will lead the brand management team including responsibilities for working with the VP and other team members to define the overall brand strategy. The PayPal brand is at an inflexion point as it expands into the offline world and becomes a company driving global commerce. Brand architecture and portfolio management is critical. PayPal innovation is driven both from internal innovation and best in class acquisitions. Brand migration strategy will be foundational to success in leveraging and creating overall brand equity. Overall employee engagement at all levels and functions is required. This senior leader will be responsible for working with the executive teams globally and critical cross-functional leads in all departments to ensure the brand is understood and delivered in everything we do.

We need a seasoned "brand professional" who has worked with best-in-class B2C and B2B brands. The job requires rock solid brand management background and proven success developing and managing both corporate and product brand portfolios. Candidate must be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of working cross-functionally in a global organization. Requirements include:
Bachelors degree in a marketing communications-related field with MBA preferred but not required
10-15 years leading brand marketing functions (or related) role with strong consumer brand development and management experience
Extensive experience leading global marketing strategy and planning both client and agency side
Management of diverse teams including strategy, execution and creative
Prefer experience at a Fortune 500 company, or with a major agency supporting F500 business
Superior relationship builder and manager who can interact successfully at all levels of the company, from individual contributors to executive management
Nimble and adaptable work style
Strong collaboration skills, yet must also have a challenger mindset to be able to stand behind strong (even provocative) points of view
Excellent presentation skills and high comfort level presenting to senior executives and large audiences
Proven ability to influence decisions - and thrive - in a highly matrixed environment
Experience working across various functional teams and with international clients
Ability to analyze and utilize research to make data-driven decisions
Experience managing strategic agency partners and consultants
Extremely strong oral and written communication skills
