As the Organizational Development (OD) Director, this Toronto-based role provides consultation and OD solutions to the Canadian business (almost 11,000 members coast to coast in every major centre in Canada). As a member of the Global Culture and Experience Center of Expertise, this role reports directly to the Vice-President, Culture and Experience (based in Montreal). The role also works closely with the Canada HR VP and is a part of the Canada HR leadership team.
• As part of a global team, partner with all OD leads to deliver global OD solutions for CGI, while understanding and tailoring for specific local requirements for the Canada business unit.
• Provide consultation and solutions in leadership development, talent and succession management, to enable a sustainable talent pipeline in partnership with the HR directors across Canada.
• Lead and manage the global annual talent management programs for Canada.
• Leverage and implement global practices and develop tailored solutions for a compelling member experience and strong organizational culture for Canada through performance management, engagement, career development, diversity and inclusion, recognition solutions and programs.
• Collaborate with the HR COEs and HR Business Partners to enable organizational effectiveness through change management and transformation; organizational model design and alignment; and integration solutions for any acquisition integrations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across HR to develop integrated HR solutions and enable a compelling member experience.
• Contribute to the Global Culture and Experience Center of Expertise strategic initiatives.
• Contribute depth and breadth of HR knowledge and apply effectively in the development and deployment of HR programs, policies and systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Relevant Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent degree and/or HR related certifications.
• Experience in managing both large and small scale change initiatives and program development ideally in an international context.
• 7-10 years’ progressive related experience in organizational development, human resources and/or consulting in a leading global organization.
• Broad experience in Organizational Development with specific focus on leadership and talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and change management.
• Currently operating at a senior level within an HR organization, with previous responsibility for a variety of Organizational Development and HR related initiatives.
• Excellent communications, facilitation and presentations skills.
• Proven ability to think and act strategically, in a complex matrix environment.
• Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage senior key stakeholders, with an excellent customer service mindset /consultative, working collaboratively to achieve the end goal.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to make decisions that have longer term and far reaching implications.
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills; able to confidently deal at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to provide guidance and direction in developing all types of learning solutions (i.e. classroom, web-based) in accordance with sound design principles and business realities.
• Demonstrated superior project management/program delivery skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects for multiple internal customers and stakeholders.
• Delivery oriented and results focused
• Experience using survey and assessment tools to identify business needs and measure effectiveness of solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, MSWord, Excel and other MS suite of business applications.
