The Director for PSE Service Engineering will lead the Service Engineering team creating PS standardized services that closely align to VMware products and solutions and are widely adopted by VMware PS teams around the world.
Service Packaging
Work closely with product Business Units (BUs) to understand product roadmaps and to ensure services are closely aligned with product releases
Work closely with PSE Solution Packaging to ensure services are closely aligned with proposed and actual solutions
Define the assets and bill of materials for PS services
Define the services and create the services assets
Thought leader and evangelist for PS services across the company
Define and execute awareness and enablement plans for service adoption
Liaise with Solution Packaging teams to ensure services are in place to support the solutions.
Delivery Assistance
Ensure availability to help with delivering services to field sales teams
Ensure participation in a broad range of delivery activities to validate services
Ensure participation in BU lighthouse and other early adopter programs to validate services
Team Leadership
Develop world class team to develop market-leading PS standardized services
Manage team development and grow team as required
Inspire, motivate and manage direct team to ensure maximum quality and productivity
Work proactively across teams and organizations to provide broad leadership and direction

Be recognized as a highly credible, “go to” person for the above roles when there is a focus on PS standardized services
Engender trust and partnership with the above roles to ensure relevance and alignment
Be proactively and consistently involved in company, geo and regional initiatives to define and implement standardized services
Be “hand-in-glove” with the PSE Solution Packaging team to ensure services are available and align with the PS solutions.

Services are defined, created and available in a timely manner
Services are well-understood by VMware delivery teams and teams are appropriately enabled in their use
Standardized Services are used as the basis for at least 50% of all Consulting activity
Feedback from stakeholders is consistently excellent
Awareness, enablement, usage and feedback is uniform across all geographies and regions
There is consistently excellent and frictionless alignment with other PSE and GSE functions
Unintended attrition of less than 5%
Attributes and Experience
10 years+ in Professional Services
Excellent track record in Services product management
Global experience in AMER, EMEA, and APJ
Exemplary and motivational leadership skills
Strong track record of innovation and execution
Ability to work in influence and matrix roles to achieve results beyond organizational hierarchy
