The EHS Director leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the JLL EHS management system at the Client facility. In this capacity, the EHS Director is accountable to provide guidance, identify the resources and equipment necessary to implement the EHS management system and compliance programs related to the JLL scope of work for the Client. The EHS Director will advise the JLL leadership team on EHS issues, evaluate potential hazardous situations and environmental impacts, conduct accident investigations, implement and create programs and consistencies across the Client facilities and ensure JLL is compliant with all EHS regulatory and Client requirements.
The EHS Director will oversee the EHS function with direct reports at the Client facility locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of the EHS management system and compliance programs at Client facilities. Manage a team of EHS Managers and staff at Client facilitiesTeam with JLL account and vertical leadership to establish EHS performance goals and reviews performance against those goals. Track and report EHS metrics and measure performance against key performance indicators. Establish necessary plans to meet or exceed key performance indicators.Review Client metrics and compare against vertical wide metrics through the use of analytics or other tools provided to ensure that the Client portfolio is being managed within goal parameters. Direct the implementation of EHS strategy and systems.Measure, monitor and report to Executive Leaders cost savings and value add contributions of the EHS team. Develop and implement EHS qualification program to manage JLL service partners working at Client locations and under the JLL scope of work.Evaluate hazards on Client sites for safety, health, and environmental risks.Execute environment, health and safety procedures and programs for JLL activities and monitors safety compliance to reduce risks.Execute inspection programs and establishes regular inspection schedules.Identify training requirements and coordinates training sessions for EHS regulatory and Client training requirements. Establish record management and retention policy. Ensures required records are kept available according regulatory and JLL requirements.Ensure EHS policies and procedures are developed, updated, implemented, and followed.Partner with Life Science Vertical EHS Sr. Director to roll out initiatives as appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related subject. Master's degree or a professional designation like CSP, CIH or OHST is desirable.Broad based knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations.A minimum of ten years of experience working with EHS compliance and management systems preferably within facility operations. EHS experience in biopharmaceutical, research or maintenance operations is preferred. Experience supervising a team of EHS professionals.Success working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectives.Excellent skills in written and oral communication. Basic computer skills with both word processing and database applications. Ability to inspect and audit outdoor and indoor areas to observe compliance with established programs.Must be able to travel 15%
