The Account Director - Singapore position is permanent position based at the BBCWW offices in Singapore alongside the BBC Advertising / Global News Limited teams
In brief the scope of this role is to:
Focus on effective revenue generation against individual and team target targets as defined by the role for the forthcoming financial year (April 18 – March 19)
Manage, exploit and be the main POC for a select number of key Platinum & Gold Singapore based clients
Work with the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia to develop new business targets in Singapore across TV & digital
Work with & support the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia in his absence to help in the day to day running of the Singapore ad sales business (reporting, forecasting, sales meetings, trade events etc.)
Overarchingly, Account Director – Singapore’s role is to generate profitable sales revenues from BBC Advertising TV and Digital products and services from agencies and key clients in the Singapore market whilst supporting the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia in his absence when overseas on business
The Singapore Ad Sales team comprises 1 x Account Director (this role), 1 x Senior Account Manager, 1 x Account Manager, 1 x Account Executive, 2 x Account Planners. All of the above report to the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia, s this role will not have any direct reports.
The Account Director will have shared support from the Account Executive & Account Planners.
In this senior, business-critical role, the Account Director – Singapore will work with the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia to:
Deliver the sales revenue target for the Singapore market for the current FY
Work with the sales team, Business Intelligence and the wider sales organisation to proactively identify and pursues revenue generating opportunities with both new and existing clients and agencies.
Work with BBC P&I team to ensure maximum inventory yield, understanding of and adherence to BBC Sales Policy in dealing with agencies & clients
Work with BBC Sales Ops team to ensure campaigns TV & digital are launched, managed, optimised and delivered in a timely manner
Work collaboratively and closely with BBC StoryWorks, the in-house BBC content production division based in Singapore, to deliver content-driven proposals to agency & client briefs within budget and BBC Sales Policy
Use their in-depth knowledge of the Singapore advertising market to contribute to the strategic sales plan
Thoroughly, diligently and professionally manage & develop a selection of key Platinum & Gold key accounts (clients) and their corresponding agency teams.
Work with the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia to inspire & motivate the Singapore sales team via their own performance, attitude and aptitude. This involves working with the VP Ad Sales in setting clear performance expectations and developing capabilities in line with the current and future requirements of the business
Provides timely and accurate reports and forecasts to the VP Sales on current revenue and the sales pipeline
Success in this role relies on an in-depth knowledge of the media industry in Singapore and a comprehensive understanding of BBC Worldwide Advertising products and services
Outstanding consultative selling skills and the ability to forge relationships at the highest levels in both agency and client organisations are critical capabilities. This is a role for an energetic high-achiever. The ability to work collaboratively with the VP Advertising Sales Singapore, South & SE Asia to motivate, coach and direct the Singapore sales team to deliver exacting revenue results and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction is also key to successful performance.
