The Director, Brand Development will create, conceptualize and articulate the 3 year PayPal brand plan - including all the key strategies to meet our global brand ambitions as set out in the business strategy. This brand evangelist will then drive the brand architecture through - from business approval to budgeting to integration into the wider marketing & communications plans globally and within each region.
Lead the brand management process - focused around the annual brand plan so that the tactical execution of the 3 year strategic plan is being actively delivered, measured and fed back into the planning process
Create and lead the “engine room” for delivery across the Brand Strategy and Development function, running and pace-setting the entire set of brand activities from strategic to execution, to ensure we are meeting our commitments to regions, other functions and to the business goals
Requirements:
A searing ambition and creative passion for the PayPal brand - which can be translated into awe -inspiring vision and purpose for the brand to engage and persuade all our audiences of PayPal's unique position in the world
Intellectual horsepower with highly creative idea generation and problem solving skills – to help create an innovative and original brand plan
Strong affinity for the consumer tech category and/or financial services category
10 years' experience on both the agency and the client side - with strong background in a digital/social environment
Highly developed planning skills including project management, time management, organizational savvy and budgetary discipline
Proven experience in insights-based strategic planning for client brands - from brand concepts through to brand behavior execution - including defining the metrics base and enabling a mirrored planning process within a region
Engaging and impactful communicator in written and spoken formats - loves to tell stories and confident addressing senior executives with data driven and conceptual messages
Team player across functions and borders - collaborative, confident, consultative and collegial, someone who builds answers and outcomes with their stakeholders and customers
High energy, self driven, loads of initiative, resourceful - generally very focused on getting to "yes" and getting to "do" quickly
Impeccable attention to detail, very high quality standards and robust principles when it comes to brand integrity and acting on insights - can defend the customers wishes and hopes within logical, engineering based environments and will always fight for the standards that our brand deserves
Disciplined and empathetic people manager, possessing a high EQ and accomplished in empowering people, who will develop capability and competency within the cross functional team,
