We are seeking a new Director of Seller Marketing to evolve and deliver eBay’s B2C marketing strategy. In this role, you and your team will play a significant role in growing a multi-billion dollar business by promoting opportunities for buyers and business sellers to participate in a global marketplace. You will own the development of the Seller Marketing strategy and roadmap, outlining world-class integrated marketing programs that drive profitable growth via seller acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will ensure that plans are insight-driven and customer-centric in order to meet or exceed aggressive performance goals for the growth of selling on eBay. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader with a track record of outstanding end-to-end marketing execution, with front line P&L ownership experience. Our perfect candidate will demonstrate a flawless ability to work across domains, including CRM, brand, channels, merchant development, creative, content, analytics, and pricing.
Responsibilities:
Define the vision of eBay’s Seller B2C Marketing organization to deliver measurable financial growth and strategic value to the company.
Oversee the end-to-end execution of integrated B2C marketing campaigns, focused on driving seller acquisition, engagement, and retention via multi-channel marketing, including Email, Onsite, Internet Marketing, Social, and more.
Establish goals for the growth of eBay B2C Seller Marketing; adjust and evolve programs over time to meet these goals.
Lead a team of marketers and third party agencies towards execution of Seller Marketing initiatives, including overseeing budgets, targets, and operations.
This role will leverage marketing expertise in online and offline media to drive seller growth and engagement in an efficient and scalable manner.
Partner extensively with leaders throughout BUs, seller marketing, North America marketing and external vendor/agency partners to ensure the voice of the seller is reflected in our marketing strategies, messaging, creative and campaigns.
This is both a strategic and an executional role with several initiatives happening in parallel.
Requirements:
10+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated career progression, including online marketing experience with a leading retailer or major consumer brand.
Track record of achieving aggressive marketing and customer goals through the use of analytics and data.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with depth of experience in CRM or online marketing within an ecommerce and/or marketplace environment.
Experience in strategy development and annual & quarterly planning, with demonstrated success translating customer research and analytics into impactful results.
Proven experience designing, launching, and optimizing sophisticated multi-channel consumer marketing campaigns with accountability over multi-million-dollar marketing budgets.
Exceptional organizational dexterity: ability to engage key stakeholders and build consensus across multiple business groups at all levels.
Experience managing agencies is preferred (creative, media planning & buying).
Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills (design of and presentation of). You are a natural storyteller and passionate evangelist.
Strong experience managing high performing cross-functional teams; from building, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and change management.
BA/BS degree required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
