A deep understanding of, and extensive strategic planning experience in, the Interactive space.
Has proven strong leadership skills and the ability to lead within the Interactive team as well as with the rest of the strategy group as a whole.
Extensive experience leading strategic conversations with divergent teams of people working to develop global brand communications.
Expert collaborator who is highly-skilled at working with experienced creative people who understand the Interactive world and have deep expertise working on all things to do with the design and creation of apple.com.
Ability to develop productive relationships with partners throughout the Apple and Marcom organization.
Amazing listener with a keen ability to knit together disparate sources of information into a strong strategic narrative.
Excellent writing skills, visual storytelling skills and presentation skills as demonstrated in sample briefs or decks of past work.

Description
The Director, Interactive Planning will play an integral role in shaping the future of Apple’s Interactive marketing communications. This role sits within the Strategic Planning function on the Marcom team and will be the lead Strategic Planning resource for the Interactive Team. The Director, Interactive Planning will actively partner with the Interactive Team’s Creative Directors, Managing Director and Producers to help inspire and create ground-breaking work. The Director, Interactive Planning will provide strategic leadership, write insightful briefs based on customer/market/business context, personal experience and develop a great working partnership with the Interactive Team.
The Interactive Team is responsible for designing and developing all interactive components of Apple’s marketing communications, of which apple.com is at the heart. The Director, Interactive Planning will be a key resource for this group. The role will report to the Director of Planning. Some example projects/responsibilities of Interactive Strategy are below.
Digital trends:
Where are things going digitally, by geo? What are people doing, how are they spending time online? What are the most interesting examples of different types of digital work being created?
Insights:
What are the analytics telling us? How are people using our current digital platforms? What interaction models are working? Where are they going? What do they want to do? What are our AB testing strategies and insights?
What’s next:
What initiatives should we undertake, and why? What are the next wave of problems to solve or jobs to be done? What are the broader trends in technology and culture that we need to be aware of? What’s the 3-5 year horizon?
Projects
Digital briefs:
What’s the digital brief? What are we trying to communicate in the various digital touch points? What are some insights about the needs/desires/behaviors of the audience in the digital realm?
Digital content strategy:
What content should go on what digital platforms?
How much do we say about the products on each platform? In what order?
Promotional strategy:
Where should we promote the things we create? Where should they point to?
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Requirements
15+ years of brand planning experience, with at least 5 focused on the digital space at a reputable creative agency or company.
