Worldwide Consumer Products currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a Director of International Licensing to join their team. Based in SPE’s London office, and reporting to the VP of International Sales in LA, this role will be responsible for business development and management of licensing agents in the EMEA region.
Core Responsibilities will include:
Management of EMEA agents and ensuring goals and deliverables are met including reaching and exceeding revenue targets for all categories for each IP.
Development and delivery of programs for retailers including cross category activation in store.
Responsible for fostering new and maintaining existing relationships with multiple departments including buyers, marketing, online and licensing across major retailers in various channels including mass, specialty, grocery, and independent stores.
Responsible for agent performance monitoring including execution of strategy for each IP as well as appointments and terminations.
Build licensing strategies for respective territories and tailor them for specific film programs.
Work with agents in securing best in class partners for Sony properties.
Guide licensees from contract, product development and approval and sell-in of products to retail.
Attend retail meetings at key accounts for EMEA region as well as licensing trade shows including Licensing Show & BLE.
Liaise with Legal and Finance department in order to help negotiate Licensing contracts.
Lead agents in assigned territories for global licensing programs as well as organize agent summits in each region.
The Director, International Licensing will also assist the VP and SVP of Licensing with the following:
Work closely with VP & SVP of Licensing on Licensing Budgets and Forecasts.
Review receivables with VP and Accounting department on a monthly basis and work with agents on accounts receivable and royalty statement management.
Successful candidates must have and/or demonstrate:
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
Typically 10 years in the Licensing industry, with a history of selling licenses
Proven experience in EMEA Property licensing, preferably with a major studio
Retail experience either as or working with agents
Excellent relationships with a network of existing licensees and agents in various international territories
Strong and collaborative communicator, adept at managing client as well as internal relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently, be pro-active and is a confident “self-starter” who is a creative, critical and autonomous thinker
Communicative, proactive problem solver, flexible, adaptable, pragmatic and resourceful with strong organizational skills – works independently and uses own initiative
Proficient in PowerPoint and Keynote
Willingness and ability to travel to individual markets in the territory as required
