As a senior leader within the Global RFP & DDQ Services group, the Director plays a crucial role in fulfilling these objectives. In this role, the Director has day-to-day responsibility for the multi-site, 16-member DDQ Services teams in Fort Lauderdale, Poznan, and Singapore. The Director will coordinate all new data requests from the distribution teams and the ongoing delivery of recurring responses.
Watch: Career Advice With the group VP, the Director is also responsible for developing the strategic direction of the group as well as designing and implementing a systemized approach to DDQ completion, which is in line with current and evolving business and client needs/requirements. An additional focus will be on developing tactical processes to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness, e.g. increase quality, productivity, and responsiveness to business/client needs.
This role will also partner extensively with other key departments, including Distribution, Product Management, Performance, Legal, Compliance, etc., in order to manage the firm’s response to questionnaires from existing clients. The role also involves actively positioning the team’s visibility within the firm and its importance to the firm’s client servicing propositioning.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee global platform with more than 16 team members located in two global offices.
Responsible for supervising multiple direct reports (and downstream reports) in multiple locations, including recruitment, termination, promotion, and merit recommendations
Manage the platform’s performance and develop the team:
Oversee workflow and troubleshoot issues as they may arise for the team.
Recruit and retain team of DDQ specialists to manage ongoing DDQ response effort as needed; establishes development plans for staff across all ranks.
Manage Provide insight into and peripheral support of the development and maintenance of product/strategy/firm level content that is stored in a centralized database, reviewed and enhanced via a separate content management team and used by the entire Global RFP & DDQ Services group.
Partners with distribution and consultant relationship team seniors to maintain relationships with external clients and consultants and to understand/manage their information needs and requirements.
Partner with other key departments, including Distribution, Product Management, Performance, Legal, Compliance, etc., in order to manage the global response platform.
Create client focus and drive for results: Quality Control and Accuracy - coach and develop team to respond to questionnaires accurately and in a timely fashion.
Ensures audits/quality control of responses globally for accuracy and completeness.
Measures results by establishing, tracking and monitoring key department performance measurements. Uses metrics and data insights to identify and implement productivity and quality improvements.
Provide continuous learning resources in order to share market knowledge with downstream reports.
Develops and leads system or business related project activities, as well as implements projects approved and assigned by the Vice President.
Supports the Vice President in establishing and implementing long-term strategic goals for the global team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in Business, Finance, or Marketing/ Communications.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Strong and demonstrable experience of people management, preferably in a multi-site or international environment.
Sound understanding of the institutional and retail investment management businesses.
Sound knowledge of financial markets, ideally across multiple distribution channels and markets.
Strong staff development; experience in building and managing a multi-site, information-oriented team.
Demonstrated experience working in highly matrixed organization.
Previous operations/process engineering experience preferred.
Experience independently managing a broad geographic team to meet clients’ needs in globally distributed markets and sites.
Experience managing to service quality targets.
Sound investment business insight and investment product expertise.
Familiarity with investment products, markets, information standards, servicing requests.
Demonstrated people management skills, leadership abilities, group facilitation skills, and strong oral/written communication skills. Able to inspire and motivate others.
