Microsoft's Mid-Atlantic States District is looking for an experienced sales leader. The Application Platform Specialist Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a team of high performing sales and technical professionals while working in collaboration with Customer Account, Services and Partner teams driving revenue and market share for Microsoft's Data Platform (SQL Server, BizTalk, Windows Azure and Development Tools).

Key Accountabilities:
Hiring, motivating, coaching, and managing high-performing solution and technical specialists to meet or exceed quota while driving market share.
Create team opportunity generation plans for all solution workloads, competitive and strategic initiatives.
Develop a resource allocation strategy that enables effective opportunity engagement
Develop, manage and accurately forecast a valid team pipeline that covers 200% of target through frequent inspection and deal-coaching.
Grow and maintain a healthy partner ecosystem
Grow and nourish a community of customer accounts that can be referenced in sales engagements.
Operationalize a structured business rhythm to ensure a sustainable and predictable business
Year-over-year improvement in Workgroup Health scores and team readiness
Experiences Required:
8-10 years of experience developing high-performing enterprise software platform sales teams and a proven track record of exceeding team quotas.
Use business expertise and technology knowledge to effectively bridge customer business issues to Microsoft solutions.
Successful management of large-scale, complex deal cycles at Fortune 1000 accounts.
Coaching direct reports in pipeline management, opportunity management, and account planning
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Executive level communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to mentor others.
Education:
Requires a bachelor degree in Computer Science, similar information technology-related discipline or Business Administration
Masters Degree preferred, MBA desirable.
Complex sales training (e.g., Miller Hyman, Michael Bosworth, Holden, etc.),
