The Director of Product Management will be responsible for charting and executing the course for Audible's Core Engineering Services. You will help define our partnership strategy and will design and implement program policies and guidelines. This will be in addition to defining how API's should be used internally as well. You are responsible for developing a world-class set of services, designed to scale to the most demanding use cases from the largest global partners. You have excellent communication skills and judgment and are comfortable evangelizing Audible API's and services with a wide range of senior business and technical leaders internally as well as within our partner companies.

The ultimate vision and strategy will be up to you. You will then be responsible for tactical execution, including requirements writing, prioritization, measuring success metrics and communicating out.

A key component of your role will be working closely with Business Development to make sure opportunities pursued are technically feasible, strategy consistent and, most importantly, raising the bar on the Audible customer experience. You will be responsible for the customer voice as you work with design, technical and business leaders to set strategy and define products.

The successful candidate will be a tenacious, ambitious, self-starter with a passion for API's and who can serve as a strong advocate for our business development and internal technology customers but with an ultimate focus on our end user: the Audible listener. You will have proven analytical capabilities, strong persuasive writing skills, deep technology understanding, broad business experience and the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
Establish and continuously update vision for Audible API's and services.
Collaborate with internal customers, technology teams and business development partners to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order. In order to ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned, the Senior Product Manager will need to drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions.
Write market, functional and system requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business and development teams.
Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria.
Manage the execution of initiatives from idea through launch, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
Help the organization reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood/documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from of the use of third-party technologies, APIs not protected/hardened, etc.).
Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
Define metrics for success and failure and analyze and create dashboards for key metrics.
Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.
