Director - Quality Engineering - Virtual Instruments - San Jose

Job description
Responsibilities:
This role will report to the VP of Engineering and provide leadership and guidance to the Quality Engineering team.
Manage all aspects of the Quality Engineering organization for the current and upcoming product releases
Ensure projects meet objectives while managing within schedule, budget and resources.
Work closely with Software Management team to ensure product testing requirements are met
Implement software engineering and quality assurance disciplines utilizing Agile methodology
Provide leadership, guidance, development and support to engineer staff.
Work closely with Staffing team to drive recruitment activities


Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Minimum 10+ years of experience on software development and/or QA positions
Minimum 5+ years of experience managing QA teams at an enterprise class software development product company
Strong project management/release management skills to drive to deliver projects on time and within budget
Strong understanding of development lifecycle and Quality Engineering to drive solutions and/or determine technical trade-offs when needed.
Strong understanding of Java and Object Oriented Programming, specifically around API testing
Experience in managing a test development team
Excellent collaboration skills & communications skills to provide & to present technical ideas, negotiate and influence others.
Excellent leadership, people management and communication skills
BS in Computer Science or equivalent; MS preferred.
