Director Manufacturing Excellence Under Armour Baltimore

The Director for ME will be an integral leadership role in the global expansion strategy and regional development and management for Under Armour. This role will be across all channels – Footwear / Apparel / Accessories, and challenged to enable Lean application and spear head continuous improvement actions in both the manufacturing
( supply base ) and interrelated functions within the E2E business functions. This position will cross lead with the other regional Manufacturing Excellence leadership, and be the lead on the front end improvement opportunities in the respective region

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Co-Leadership within the Manufacturing Excellence program and projects
Work with our supply partners to identify opportunities for waste reduction
Work with our internal UA teams to identify waste in our processes and present solutions that are connected across of impacted functions
Enable Lean solutions that affect - Lead Times, Quality, Output and Cost
Create learning programs for both UA team members and supply partners
Enable common metrics for supply partners
Co-Develop and support the UA ME metrics
Develop Current and Target Condition mapping that aligns to the business strategy for UA
Assess new vendor opportunities based on Lean capabilities and opportunities
Conduct quarterly reviews of projects both internal to UA and supply partners
Enable continuous improvement programs that result in supply sharing programs of cost and manufacturing gains
Promote the UA culture and ethical business practices


This role will be a key position to both develop UA in its ME / Lean journey, and enable our supply partners in better process and practices that clearly support UA business initiatives and strategic objectives.


Team and Reporting Structure

This role will report to the senior leader of the Manufacturing Excellence function and be a key leadership role for ME
The role will have responsibility to support our supply partners, enable factory / vendor based teams to drive out waste, and work cross functionally with home office teams and global teams on efforts in Lean


Expectations & Travel

This role will involve travel to the regions UA manufactures products
The expectations for this role are to lead / drive improvements in direct relationship to the key metrics established and aligned with individual goals of this role
Goals for the role and region are aligned to the Supply Chain deliverables
10 years related industry experience preferred
Knowledge of TPS
