We are looking for an experienced technical leader to take our early lead in the database services market and help us grow the business by defining and delivering industry leading next generation database services architected for the cloud.
In this role, you will hire and lead multiple database product management teams responsible for rethinking the assumptions behind how traditional database services were built and thinking how to build database services best suited for the cloud. Specifically, this role will require the person to lead the product management for one of our newest services, Machine Learning.

In this role, you will own product management for machine learning. You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues. You will manage and be responsible for delivering some of our most strategic technical projects, deliver large scalable systems, design new software systems at the cutting edge of distributed database technology and have a significant bottom-line impact on our business and competitive position.

As a PM Leader, you will part of the larger technical and product leadership community at Amazon. This community forms the backbone of the company, plays a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire talented team of engineers and ultimately enables us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering
· Minimum of 15 years of experience, 7+years of which must be in engineering management position
· If no degree then requires an additional 4 years of experience, 3 of which must be in developing software.
Preferred Qualifications

· Masters or PhD in Computer Science with a minimum of 15 years of relevant software development and engineering management experience.
· Experience with database systems kernel development or engineering large scale distributed systems is strongly preferred.
